SIG is a leading distributor of specialist building products in Europe. The Group has a product and service offering of significant scale with strong positions in its three core product areas of Insulation and Energy Management, Exteriors and Interiors. SIG operates from sites across the UK, Ireland and Mainland Europe employing over 9,000 people.

The Challenge

SIG had made a set of strategic acquisitions expanding their portfolio of businesses to encompass Modular homebuilding. With demand in the specialised area of construction and manufacturing expanding rapidly, the SIG business needed to ensure optimisation and delivery of their turnkey production facility to meet customer orders. A critical requirement for the site was therefore a Head of Engineering, Quality and CI who could ensure evolution of processes to deliver increased output whilst ensuring quality and safety enhancement.

The Solution

Following a detailed briefing with the line manager and head of recruitment, TS Grale were asked to work exclusively in identifying an individual who blended production, engineering and project management skills relative to this specific environment. Given that the timescales required were more prescriptive than usual search assignments it was agreed that a shortlist would be delivered in under 4 weeks.

The Result

A shortlist of four candidates was delivered in a three-week period and the screening process continued through initial interviewing, to ensure further coverage of the market. SIG screened all shortlisted candidates, taking two to final stage. The process was completed successfully in six working weeks.
