The Client

TMD Friction is one of the world’s largest manufacturer of original equipment brake friction material for passenger cars and commercial vehicles in the global automotive industry, a valued supplier of safety-critical components to the majority of marques and a driving force in OE and replacement braking products for OES and the aftermarket, through a range of brands.

The Challenge

TS Grale was retained by TMD Friction UK to source a new lead for HSE across their Aftermarket Business which has facilities in the UK, Germany, France, Romania and Brazil with a workforce totalling circa 1800 employees.

The organisation was keen to ensure they undertook a broad search for chartered safety talent from within other world class manufacturing and assembly businesses, with an emphasis on finding an individual with a proven ability working internationally to improve process and systems.

The Solution

Following an initial consultation with the team at TMD Friction, TS Grale created a bespoke search strategy to generate a map of the HSE leadership community within best in class environments and specific geographies.

Following a rigorous search process we were able to produce a long list of candidates and assessed each of them face to face against the agreed brief and submitted a shortlist of five candidates for discussion with our client.

The Result

The HSE Leader was successfully appointed from the shortlist delivered by TS Grale.
