Tell us about the man outside of the office

Brendan was born in Northampton, and has grown up a keen Northampton Saints fan throughout his life. He tries to get down as often as possible to Franklin’s Gardens, and hopes to see them in a final again this season! When he isn’t travelling down to watch the Saints, Brendan enjoys playing rugby locally in Leeds on a Saturday afternoon.

Give us an insight into the career to date

Throughout university, Brendan kept himself busy outside of his studies, choosing to take on several placements to gain some vital work experience. This led him in to the world of recruitment, where he undertook a 3-month work placement with a highly successful FTSE 250 business. After graduating from Leeds Metropolitan University with a 2:1 in a Business degree, Brendan jumped straight in to a recruitment career where he immediately thrived, making several placements in his first 18 months.

What does career success look like for you moving forward?

For Brendan, there are two factors which define success in his career moving forward – career progression and financial gain. “Within the next few years at TS Grale, I am aiming to build my own successful team.” This is something Brendan felt was a real possibility working for a company like TS Grale. On the financial side, success to Brendan is being able to buy his own house before his 25th birthday.

So what does Brendan think of the recruitment industry?

“My first thought about the recruitment industry is that it is highly competitive – there are so many agencies out there that are competing for business that you need to be able to differentiate yourself to be successful.” Brendan goes on to explain that there several ways of doing this, but the most important is to be consultative, take your time with candidates and clients alike to offer advice when it is needed. The advice you give can be extremely valuable and will help you to differentiate yourself from the competition.

Why TS Grale?

“TS Grale has a wealth of experience in the office that is really going to help me develop in my career. There are several people around me that have been very successful in their careers so far, and to have this support first hand is invaluable. Further to this, the growth plans for the business are extremely exciting, and something I am really looking forward to being a part of!”

Thank you Brendan for your insights and welcome on board!
