TS Grale is recruiting for a Principal on behalf of an award-winning National Engineering Firm that designs, investigates, rehabilitates structures and building enclosures.
As part of their strategic growth plan, my client requires a Principal that will strengthen and grow their Buildings, Structural Investigations and Rehabilitation's Practice within Building Engineering throughout Houston and Texas, establishing new client relationships.
Our client uses a seller/doer business model. That is, nearly all their technical management, have risen through the technical ranks to the Principal (partner) level by demonstrating an ability to develop clients, sell work, and provide the technical/project management oversight to execute the work.
An average Principal-level person at the Firm sells/executes on the order of US$2 million per year, though there is significant variability in this, with some Principals doing in excess of $7 million personal business. They operate almost as a franchise, where individual partners collaborate, under the company banner, to operate their own businesses.
The Firm`s compensation system, at the partner level is highly performance based, such that Principals with a large book of business do substantially better than partners with marginal business. All their business line / office managers, and even the Chairman of the Board, spend roughly 60% of their time or more, managing project work.

Required – PE License and Degree educated in a relevant field. Minimum of 15 years’ experience of project management experience of Buildings and Structural Engineering. Detailed knowledge of Houston and Texas market.
