To that end, TS Grale has vowed to mirror … Read More

High hopes for the UK Aerospace industry

June 29, 2017

It’s difficult to believe a year has passed since the controversial Brexit vote. In a short space of time, we have already seen a decade’s worth of political and economic changes taking place across UK industries, and with Brexit negotiations still to take shape, there could be a lot more to come. Despite the uncertainty surrounding these changes, reflected in the rise and fall of the pound of late, UK Manufacturing appears to be riding the wave of the Brexit vote. For example, at the turn of the summer solstice, it was reported that total UK Manufacturing orders had reached … Read More

On Reflection: The UK General Election 2017 In the lead-up to June 8 this year, there is perhaps only one phrase that could have prepared the nation for what was to come next: expect the unexpected. Overcoming the challenges of digitisation in Manufacturing

May 26, 2017

In a continually unpredictable climate, it is refreshing to see recent statistics which seem to demonstrate growth of the UK Manufacturing sector. At the end of April 2017, for example, the UK’s Manufacturing PMI rose to a three year high. Without a doubt, this can be attributed to what some are calling the “fourth Industrial Revolution” – digitisation in Manufacturing. While digitisation takes many forms, in the Manufacturing arena, this primarily concerns Big Data, cyber physical systems and the Internet of Things – all of which can be used to extract large amounts of data in real time, enabling manufacturers … Read More

April 24, 2017

My colleague Jason Saunders recently posted an article, “What UK Manufacturing needs to consider when securing the best senior talent”. Part of the article was focused on the fact that all too often when hiring talent organisations want to have people with a specific product knowledge or manufacturing sector experience, much to their detriment. We commonly find that executives who want to move across manufacturing sectors struggle to achieve this when they reach a senior level. With this in mind, we spoke to Steve Shoulder, a highly-experienced manufacturing professional who has bucked this trend. Steve has forged a successful career … Read More

A festive diary of TS Grale’s first year in business

December 20, 2016
