As the TS Grale team and I head into the Christmas holidays, like many others I often find myself reflecting on the year that has passed.
I remember this time in 2020, hoping that we had come through the worst that Covid could throw at us. I was looking forward to a fantastic 2021 for the business, as we looked to continue our growth journey. Naively, the lockdown in January took me by surprise, and hit us all harder emotionally than any of the previous lockdowns.
This was a really challenging period for us and many businesses. However, I feel as hard as the start of the year was for all the team, we really rallied well together and if anything, the whole experience brought us all closer… even though we were often working from home! As I sit here typing this, I can honestly say we are now a better team from the experience.
As a business that offers flexible working, we have been used to working remotely for a while, but rather than stand still the team were fantastic and continually shared ideas to help each other to stay positive, support each other and improve to keep successfully delivering for our customers.
We have had a few team changes this year and gained some absolute stars! Erika, Connor, Aidan and Ellis joined us and have quickly established themselves within the business. They really complement our more established colleagues, Sean, Laura, Dan (who returned from a ‘sabbatical’), Amanda, Angel and Lyndsay. They have further added a real positive energy and brought some excellent ideas forward that we will use to grow as a business.
We are all of the belief that if our culture is great and we all strive to be the best that we can be with the support of those around us, it will lead to us winning even more work and ultimately our business achieving its ambitions, to be the recruitment partner of choice for the industries we serve and the employer of choice for exceptional recruitment professionals.
We finish 2021 with the best team that we have ever had. Despite the challenges faced this year, individual and team records have been smashed, there have been multiple promotions, we grew our offering across the UK and globally, and strengthened with new key hires. The team also pulled together for a gruelling but rewarding charity challenge, overcoming the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, and enjoyed many team events celebrating success. We look forward to the new starters joining us in January 2022 and to welcoming many more into the organisation next year.
If 2021 was supposed to be a bad year for an SME like us, I cannot wait to see what an ‘ok’ or a ‘good’ year will bring for the TS Grale team!!
