This month, we caught up with our Head of UK Search and Recruitment, Dan, to learn about his experience at TS Grale.
Why Did You Choose TS Grale?
After three years working in Education Recruitment, I wanted to move away from temporary recruitment and start to work with different businesses that interested me.
Having met with a few different firms in Leeds and London, TS Grale stood out with their family ethos, allowing me to work from home (three years ago that was very rare in recruitment, and I desperately wanted a dog!) and the amount of experience that I could learn from within the business.
What do you enjoy most about working at TS Grale?
Every day is different.
We have a great team with a lot of different characters in the room so there is always a fun story as well as the opportunity to collaborate and share experiences. Everyone wants everyone to succeed. I am given the opportunity to work with great clients and candidates and make a real difference in my industry.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I get up early and walk my best pal Phil (my Springer Spaniel) before cycling into work. My days in work are always varied, from meeting with clients and candidates, researching my markets, attending industry events amongst many other things depending on the business needs.
On an evening I spend time with friends and walk Phil again. On a Saturday you’ll find me at the Claybourne cheering on the mighty Sedge!
What excites you most about the work?
The amount of talented individuals that I get to meet on a day to day basis, both colleagues, candidates and clients. We are given the time and freedom to really get to know our clients and candidates and their insights, advice and experiences really shape how I carry out my day to day work.
What would you like someone who’s interested in going in to recruitment to know?
Don’t sweat the small stuff!
Recruitment can be a tough place so celebrate your successes and learn from your mistakes, but never let it affect your home life!
